Friday’s snowfall in the Halifax area has made for a snow day for some students.

Here’s what’s closed.

SCHOOLS: 

Halifax Regional Centre for Education has closed all schools on account of the snow.

Schools were also closed in the Annapolis Valley, Tri-County, South Shore and Chignecto-Central regional education centres.

CSAP schools were closed in the Halifax area.

NSCC closed its Halifax-area campuses.

TRANSPORTATION: 

HRM will be enforcing the winter parking ban in both zones overnight into Saturday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Halifax Transit says some buses may be put on snow plans through the day.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport recommends passengers check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Police are asking Haligonians to drive with caution.

SERVICES: 

Phoenix programs will delay opening until 12 p.m.

YMCA’s Physical Healthy Development (YPHD) before and after school program is cancelled

Some businesses may choose to stay closed today, or may close early. It’s best to call ahead or check social media before heading out.
