Police identify suspect in robbery at ATM

Halifax Regional Police have identified a suspect in their investigation of a robbery at an ATM late New Year’s Day.

Officers were called to Portland Street in downtown Dartmouth at around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 1.

They say a man assaulted and robbed a woman who was making a deposit at the bank machine.

She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect ran off.

He’s described as white, in his 30s, and around 5’10” with a thin build.

He was wearing a black three-quarter length felt coat, a grey hooded sweater and a grey tuque.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
