Woman facing impaired driving charges after pedestrian struck

Police say the driver was making a right hand turn onto Wyse Road

A woman is facing impaired driving charges after a pedestrian was struck in Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say the driver was making a right hand turn onto Wyse Road at around 12:45 p.m. when she struck the person, who was on the sidewalk at the time.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver was arrested.

A 35-year-old woman is scheduled in court at a later date to face charges of operating a conveyance while having a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg% and operating a conveyance while impaired causing bodily harm.
