Registration has opened for winter recreation programs in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

HRM says a Haligonians can find a variety of innovative, cost-effective programming for all ages and abilities, including those dealing with health and wellness, arts and crafts and outdoor activities.

Many are offered at local community centres and those in financial need can look into the Recreation Funding Access Program for discounted opportunities.

With the Canadian Red Cross winding down swim and lifeguard programs to direct more attention to humanitarian demands, HRM will be transitioning to the Lifesaving Society’s Swim Program.

This means swim levels will have new names, which you can find here.

HRM says registration for programs at the Canada Games Centre, Cole Harbour Place, Zatzman Sportsplex and St Margaret’s Centre may take place on different dates and times.
