The report from Équité Association found Honda CRVs topped the list over 4,100 vehicles being stolen in the country this year, although Lexus RS series vehicles are more likely to get stolen with a theft rate of 6.4 per cent. The theft rate of Honda CRVs is 1.7 per cent. The list rounds out with Ford F150s, Honda Civics and the Toyota Highlander rounding out the top five makes and models. Here in Atlantic Canada, the most stolen vehicle in 2021 was the Ram 1500 series. The trend in vehicles thefts, the report found, was that all high-end vehicles are targets including pick-up trucks, SUVs, and luxury cards. According to Équité Association, thieves are exploiting the advancement in technology when it comes to vehicles by using “relay attacks” that enables them to reprogram key fobs. “Not only does auto theft cost Canadians millions of dollars each year, the proceeds of this illegal activity also fund organized crime and terrorism, both domestically and internationally,” said Bryan Gast, the non-profit organization’s vice president of investigative services. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post A searing portrait of war and Lindsay Lohan’s Christmas delight: This week’s best and biggest on Netflix next post Former president of Ukraine says only victory will bring peace to his country You may also like راديو كندا الدولي: كارني وسميث يعلنان تقديم مسار... 3 يوليو، 2026 راديو كندا الدولي: وزير التعليم في أونتاريو يتراجع... 3 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax : Significant hike to gas prices... 3 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax : Quarterly payments of Ottawa’s boosted... 3 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax : Middle Sackville woman facing charges... 3 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax Nova Scotia approves plans for the... 2026 CITYnews halifax: 3 men dead in separate fatal... 3 يوليو، 2026 CITYnews halifax: Humidity tracks into Nova Scotia bringing... 3 يوليو، 2026
