CANADAHALIFAX news Two Navy ships return to Halifax after overseas deployment by admin 2 نوفمبر، 2022 written by admin 2 نوفمبر، 2022 103 HMCS Kingston and HMCS Summerside were deployed in support of NATO assurance and deterrence measures in European waters CityNews Halifax Staff Yesterday, HMCS Kingston and HMCS Summerside made it home after the four-month mission in the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea. The Navy says the vessels were involved in Operation REASSURANCE in support of NATO assurance and deterrence measures in European waters. Part of the job for the Canadian contingent included dive teams who work to identify and disable mines in order to keep shipping lanes clear. In a statement, Anita Anand, Minister of National Defence, expressed her appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Navy in demonstrating Canada’s role in supporting security and stability in Central and Eastern Europe.
