According to the Halifax Regional Municipality, the allergic reaction is caused by the bites of a microscopic parasite that is carried in bird waste and certain species of aquatic snail. “The bites leave an itchy rash on affected parts of the body,” the municipality said in a news release. “While not dangerous on their own, bites can becomes infected if scratched and turned into open wounds.” “If contact is made with affected water, skin should be rinsed with clean water as soon as possible.” The beach is still open, but swimming lessons are cancelled this week, and those were the last lessons scheduled for this summer. Those who go swimming at Birch Cove Beach are encouraged to rinse off well when they come out of the water. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Nova Scotia reports first confirmed case of monkeypox next post Halifax woman among those charged with attempted murder in Kings County stabbing You may also like Some mandatory water use restrictions introduced for areas... 27 نوفمبر، 2024 Paul Bernardo denied parole after victims’ families plead... 27 نوفمبر، 2024 N.S. election officials say results to be delayed... 27 نوفمبر، 2024 Nova Scotia 2024 election results 26 نوفمبر، 2024 ترودو يجتمع برؤساء حكومات المقاطعات غداً للبحث في... 26 نوفمبر، 2024 ترامب يعلن رسوماً جمركية على كندا والمكسيك، والمزيد... 26 نوفمبر، 2024 الحكومة تأمل في أن تعالج إجراءاتُها المعيشية ’’اهتزازاً... 26 نوفمبر، 2024 كندا مستعدة للتحرك ’’بشكل أسرع‘‘ لتحقيق هدف الـ2%... 26 نوفمبر، 2024 Nova Scotia Tories appear safe with close battle... 25 نوفمبر، 2024 Canada Post says it’s down 10 million parcels... 25 نوفمبر، 2024
