The Halifax Regional Municipality says the top speed will be lowered to 40 km/h on a section of residential streets that include Beech Tree Run, Sheppards Run, Stone Hill Place, States Lane and Loppie Close. In a news release, HRM says this is part of an ongoing initiative to improve road safety. Speed limits on public roadways are legislated by the province’s Motor Vehicle Act. “The province allows municipalities to request posted speed limits below 50 km/h if accompanied by necessary documentation including current operating speeds and roadway characteristics,” HRM says. “The speed limit reduction in these areas is being implemented following provincial approval based on available data and an assessment of roadway characteristics that meet their qualifications.” Crews will be putting up the new signs this week. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Canadian warships deployed to Arctic for two-month, multinational mission next post Katie Vincent partners with up-and-comer Connor Fitzpatrick in mixed event at Worlds You may also like Gas prices to change as energy board invokes... 10 مارس، 2026 Operating rooms closed at Victoria General after weekend... 10 مارس، 2026 Halifax considers asking province to create centralized dangerous... 10 مارس، 2026 RCMP in N.S. continue cannabis crackdown with more... 10 مارس، 2026 Cape Breton arts centre says tourism will be... 2026 Wilkie wins Canada’s first gold medal at Milan... 8 مارس، 2026 Iranian state TV says Mojtaba Khamenei, son of... 8 مارس، 2026 Missing police badge recovered in proactive traffic stop 8 مارس، 2026
