Halifax Regional Police (HRP) responded to the Petro-Canada gas station at 7015 Bayers Road at 10:44 a.m. on April 17, after an “armed robbery” was reported. “Officers arrived and noted that a suspect, shortly beforehand had entered the store, indicated to the clerk they had a firearm pointing to their clothing and demanded cash and cigarettes,” HRP says in a news release. “There was no firearm displayed and it is unknown if the suspect was in possession of one.” The suspect is described as a white woman between 24 and 29-years-old. She was wearing both a blue medical mask and latex gloves, as well as a grey knitted cap and a black jacket with its hood up. HRP says the suspect stole a quantity of cash and cigarettes before they fled in a maroon Ford Fusion taxi which they arrived in. “It is thought there may have been a customer who entered the store just prior to the suspect leaving and may have witnessed the later stages of the event unknowingly,” the news release says. “The suspect has yet to be located at this time, but the investigation and further work is ongoing.” HRP asks people with information related to this incident to call the police at 902-490-5016.
