More than a dozen residents of a small apartment building have been displaced by a fire Wednesday afternoon in Lower Sackville.

Firefighters were called to the eight-unit building on Riverside Drive just after 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

The Canadian Red Cross says it has helped 12 people from five of the apartments with emergency lodging and meals.

Other tenants were able to stay with friends or relatives.

The organization says it will offer additional support if it’s needed.
