Police investigate thefts of purses from shopping carts

Three purses have been stolen recently from Mumford Road stores

Halifax Regional Police are investigating three recent thefts of purses from shopping carts at Mumford Road businesses.

The first happened on Oct. 12 at a grocery store, the second Nov. 13 at a big box store, and the third on Nov. 20 again at the grocery store.

Victims told police they were approached by a suspect who distracted them while a second suspect stole their purse.

The first suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, around 6 feet tall and thin with straight, grey-blond hair and tattoos on his forearms.

The second suspect is described as a white woman, between 25 and 35 years old, around 5’4″, thin with long, blonde hair and tattoos on her back and arms.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
