Pfizer vaccine shots available at Halifax Convention Centre

The clinic will be open at the convention centre on Thursday and Friday

Nova Scotia Health is setting up its COVID-19 vaccine outreach clinic at the Halifax Convention Centre this week.

Pfizer vaccine doses will be available to anyone 12-years-old and older for either their first or second dose.

No appointments are needed — people can drop-in.

The clinic will be open at the Halifax Convention Centre at 1650 Argyle St. from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 8.

“To be eligible for a second dose, it must be 28 days or more since the first dose, or 21 days or more if the first dose was Pfizer,” a Nova Scotia Health news release says.

People going to get a vaccine shot will need to present their health card number and ID at the clinic.

“For those with mobility challenges, special needs and/or have significant anxiety about needles, please notify clinic team members on site,” the news release says. “Having this information helps the clinic team better prepare to offer support. These sites are wheelchair accessible.

“All eligible Nova Scotians are encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.”

Beyond the Halifax Convention Centre but within the HRM, other clinics will also be open providing Pfizer shots to drop-in patients:

• Mulgrave Park Caring and Learning Centre, 57 Jarvis Lane, on Oct. 8 and Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Tantallon Public Library, 3646 Hammons Plains Rd., on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Captain William Spry Public Library, 10 Kidston Rd., on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• JD Shatford Public Library, 10353 St. Margaret’s Bay Rd., on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Keshen Goodman Public Library, 330 Lacewood Dr., on Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
