A power outage is affecting part of the peninsula Wednesday morning.

Nova Scotia Power says the cause is still under investigation.

As of 10 a.m., 286 customers are without electricity in the area of Chebucto Road and Windsor Street.

That includes Oxford School, which is ending its day early.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education says the school is contacting families to let them know about the unexpected dismissal.

Drivers who encounter traffic lights that aren’t working are required to treat those intersections as all-way stops.
