HRM seeks nominations for 2022 Volunteer Awards

The public can nominate an adult, youth or community group for the awards before Dec. 15

The Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking nominations from the public for the 2022 Volunteer Awards.

“The annual event puts a spotlight on residents that have made a difference in their community by donating their time and skills to various programs and services,” an HRM news release says.

“Nominating an individual or volunteer group is a great opportunity to show appreciation for the work that volunteers do to help build stronger, healthier and more supportive communities.”

Nominations can be submitted in one of three categories: adult, youth (ages 13-19) or community group.

The HRM will notify successful nominees in March. Successful nominees will be invited to attend an awards ceremony with Mayor Mike Savage and members of regional council in April.

That ceremony with coincide with National Volunteer Week which runs between April 25 and 29.

The deadline for nominations is Dec. 15.
