أعلنت كندا، الخميس، عن خططها لإعادة توطين المئات من اللاجئين الأيزيديين وغيرهم من الناجين من قبضة تنظيم داعش الإرهابي في العراق، في مساعيها للم شمل اللاجئين بالناجين من عائلاتهم.
ووفقا لراديو كندا الدولي، فقد أعادت البلاد توطين نحو 1400 ناج، منذ عام 2017، معظمهم من النساء، وذلك لإنقاذهم من حملة الإبادة الجماعية التي كان داعش يمارسها بحق تلك الأقلية.
وكان وزير الهجرة واللاجئين والجنسية، ماركو مينديسينو، قد كشف الثلاثاء عن سياسة جديدة لرفع نسب استقبال الأيزيديين تتبعها كندا ستتيح من خلالها لم شملهم مع أفراد أسرهم الممتدة، بما يصل الأعمام والعمات والأجداد.
وتعتبر الأيزيدية أقلية دينية قديمة جدا، تجمع معتقداتها ما بين الزرادشتية والمسيحية والمانوية واليهودية والإسلام.
ويتهم داعش الأيزيديين بأنهم عبدة شيطان.
وقتل داعش أكثر من 3000 أيزيدي واستعبد 7000 امرأة أيزيدية على الأقل، وتسبب بتشريد معظم أفراد مجتمعهم.
وتقدر أعداد الأيزيديين بنحو 550 ألف مواطن يقطنن معظمهم شمالي العراق.
وكشف فريق الأمم المتحدة المتخصص بالتحقيق في جرائم داعش في العراق عن وجود أكثر من 80 مقبرة جماعية في سنجار، وهي منطقة أيزيدية، وبعد نيش 19 منها، تم التعرف على 104 جثث باستخدام الحمض النووي.
