عربي بوست / كشفت صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” الأمريكية، الخميس 21 مايو/أيار 2020، أن السلطات السعودية قامت باحتجاز أقارب ضابط الاستخبارات السابق، سعد الجابري، لإرغامه على العودة من كندا حيث يعيش بعد أن فر هارباً من المملكة “خوفاً على حياته”.
حسب ما ذكره تقرير للصحيفة الأمريكية، فإن ضابط الاستخبارات السعودي والخبير في تكنولوجيا الذكاء الصناعي، لعب دوراً في حرب المملكة على تنظيم القاعدة، ويحاول الآن مقاومة ضغوط ولي العهد السعودي محمد بن سلمان للعودة إلى السعودية، حسبما ذكر أحد أبنائه ومحاموه للصحيفة.
اعتقال أبناء الجابري:
منذ مارس قامت السلطات السعودية باعتقال اثنين من أبناء الجابري وأحد أشقائه، ثم لم تعرف عنهم العائلة شيئاً، حسبما نقلت نيويورك تايمز عن ابنه خالد الذي يعيش في كندا أيضاً. ولم تؤكد السلطات السعودية هذه الاعتقالات أو تصدر أي بيانات بشأنها.
يعتقد ابن الجابري ومسؤول أمريكي عمل معه أن محمد بن سلمان يخشى من وجود الجابري خارج البلاد لأن الجابري بحكم وظيفته كان مطلعاً على معلومات سرية.
سعد الجابري ، أقصى اليسار ، في حفل زفاف عائلي في الرياض عام 2016.
إذ نقلت الصحيفة عن جيرالد فايرشتاين، نائب رئيس معهد الشرق الأوسط في واشنطن قوله إن الجابري كان يعمل على عدد من الملفات الحساسة خلال سنوات عمله في الاستخبارات السعودية.
ضحية أسراره:
انتهت سنوات عمل الجابري في الاستخبارات بعد صراع على السلطة بين ولي العهد السابق محمد بن نايف، والأمير محمد بن سلمان. الجابري، كان حليفاً قوياً لبن نايف الذي اعتقل في مارس/آذار.
الجابري خبير في اللغويات وحاصل على دكتوراه في الذكاء الاصطناعي من جامعة إدنبره في إسكتلندا، عمل في وزارة الداخلية وحصل على رتبة لواء، وأصبح اليد اليمنى لولي العهد السابق محمد بن نايف.
حسب نيويورك تايمز، احتفظ الجابري بعلاقات جيدة مع مسؤولين استخباريين أمريكيين وبريطانيين. كما لعب الجابري دوراً في حرب المملكة على تنظيم القاعدة وحماية منشآت النفط السعودي من هجماته.
الصحيفة نقلت عن بروس ريدل، ضابط الاستخبارات الأمريكية السابق قوله إن الداخلية السعودية بحكم جهازها الرقابي القوي، لديها معلومات وأسرار بعضها يتعلق حتى بأفراد الأسرة الحاكمة.
وبينما يعتقد مسؤولون غربيون أن اطلاع الجابري على هذه الأسرار هو سبب ملاحقته، نقلت نيويورك تايمز عن مصدر سعودي وآخر أمريكي قولهما إن الرياض اتهمت الجابري بالفساد.
متى غادر السعودية؟
وفق تقرير نشره موقع “ميدل إيست آي” البريطاني، شهر مارس/آذار الماضي، فقد فر المسؤول الاستخباراتي السعودي السابق سعد الجبري من بلاده إلى كندا، خوفاً من حملة قد تستهدفه من ولي العهد بن سلمان.
حسب مقال كتبه ديفيد إغناتيوس في صحيفة “واشنطن بوست” الأمريكية، فإن الجبري التقى في أيلول/سبتمبر 2015، مدير المخابرات الأمريكية السابق جون برينان، أثناء زيارة إلى واشنطن لم يكن محمد بن سلمان على معرفة بها، وبعد عودته صدر مرسوم ملكي بعزله من منصبه.
يوضح التقرير أن الجبري غادر السعودية قبل مدة قصيرة من عزل الأمير محمد بن نايف من ولاية العهد بشكل مريب عام 2017، وتعيين محمد نجل الملك سلمان الذي بدأ نجمه في الصعود بسرعة خلال الفترة الأخيرة.
طبقاً للمصادر التي اعتمد عليها التقرير، فإن سبب مغادرة الجبري للسعودية هو خوفه من أن يصبح هدفاً بسبب ولائه لمحمد بن نايف المعتقل حديثاً، ونفوذه بوزارة الداخلية إضافة إلى الثروة الكبيرة التي يملكها. ونقل مصدر آخر أن الجبري تلقى رسائل تهديد من ولي العهد بن سلمان، ويواجه مخاوف إمكانية نقله بالقوة إلى السعودية.
رحلة هروب الجبري:
طبقاً لتقرير “ميدل إيست آي”، فقد سافر الجبري من السعودية إلى ألمانيا ومنها إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
وبالرغم من تأسيسه علاقات قوية مع الاستخبارات الأمريكية كونه مستشاراً استخباراتياً للأمير محمد بن نايف، لم يشعر الجبري بالأمان في الولايات المتحدة تحت إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب، فهاجر مع عائلته عام 2017 إلى كندا واستقر هناك.
ولفت التقرير إلى أخبار تحدثت عن قيام أجهزة الأمن الأمريكية بمنع محاولات اختطاف واغتيال أسماء معارضة عقب مقتل الصحفي السعودي جمال خاشقجي في جريمة منظمة داخل قنصلية بلاده في إسطنبول في 2018.
ويرى الخبراء أن لجوء الجبري إلى كندا كان له أثر في الأزمة الدبلوماسية التي اندلعت بين السعودية وكندا في أغسطس/آب 2018.
