This week, the provincial government announced that applications for the latest round of the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment Community Fund are now being accepted. The funding supports projects that are focused on retention, creating welcoming communities for health care workers in addition to recruitment. “Nova Scotians know and love their communities and understand how to make our province more welcoming and attractive for healthcare professionals,” said Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson, minister responsible for the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment in a release. “I look forward to seeing what new projects and innovations will come from this next round of the community fund.” Since 2022, the province says 82 grants have been awarded for initiatives such as recruitment videos, career fairs, multicultural events, recognition events, mentorship programs and housing assistance Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, community groups and municipalities. Applications for the fund are due by July 16th.
