CITYnews halifax : Halifax robbery suspect tracked down by police in Truro

Truro Police Service say they have arrested a man believed to have been involved in a Halifax-area robbery.

On Tuesday, Truro police say they were asked to be on the lookout for a suspect’s vehicle believed to be in the Colchester County town.

Truro officers located the vehicle unoccupied at a local residence just before 9 a.m.

In a social media post, officials say that officers set up containment around the home, and as the suspect tried to flee, he was safely arrested without incident.

A 29-year-old man will now appear in provincial court on several charges, including forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and mischief.

Police say the accused’s identity is being withheld at this time as this incident is still under investigation.
