A CANADAHALIFAX news One dead following head-on collision involving impaired driver by admin 1 March، 2026 written by admin 1 March، 2026 30 CITYnews halifax/ By Rachel Morgan One man is facing a charge of impaired operation causing death after a head-on collision in South Ohio, N.S. Yarmouth RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hardscratch Road near Highway 340 on Friday. Officers say the initial investigation indicated that a GMC Sierra was travelling north on Hardscratch Road when it collided with a Ford Ranger travelling south. The Ranger ended up in the ditch. The driver and lone occupant of the Ranger, an 82-year old man for Arcadia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and lone occupant of the Sierra, a 43-year-old man from Yarmouth, was arrested with impaired driving causing death. A RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the road was closed for several hours. It has since reopened.
