Released on Wednesday, the poll from Abacus Data surveyed more than 600 adults living in Nova Scotia. Conducted between Jan. 21 and 28, the poll showed approval of the current governing PC party at 48 per cent among decided voters. While this is still a strong showing, it is also a four-point drop since an earlier poll last September and five points below the 2024 election showing. The New Democrats under Claudia Chender now sit at 25 per cent, which is up two points since the fall. Most recent figures show the Houston government increased to 43 percent among HRM voters, which is up from last September’s 39 per cent report. With the NDP sitting at 33 per cent in the HRM, the PC party holds a 10-point lead in the Halifax area.
