Halifax police search for suspect involved in weapons complaint

Regional police are looking for a suspect after two people reported being threatened with a gun Wednesday morning.

At roughly 7:50 a.m., police were called to Kelly Street where three people were involved in a physical altercation.

Police said one person threatened the other two with a firearm, fled the scene and was believed to be inside a home on Kelly Street.

The Emergency Response Team was deployed and searched the home but was unable to find the suspect or the gun.

HRP said two women inside the home were taken into custody and are being held for questioning.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and officers continue to search for the suspect who is described as a black man, around 35 years old, roughly 6 feet tall and wearing a grey track suit.

Police do not believe this was a random incident.
