CITYnews halifax:  RCMP say 10,000 chickens at a barn in Nova Scotia have died after a break and enter

Nova Scotia RCMP say a break and enter at a poultry barn in the Lunenburg area resulted in the death of thousands of chickens.

Police say they responded to a report of a break and enter Saturday morning in Pine Grove.

Mounties say about 10,000 chickens died after the barn was broken into and the building’s ventilation fans were turned off.

Police believe the break-in happened Friday around 10 p.m.

The break-in remains under investigation.
