THE CANADIAN PRESS/Justin Tang CANADAHALIFAX news Ellie Black among 4 Nova Scotians appointed to the Order of Canada by admin 31 December، 2025 written by admin 31 December، 2025 71 CITYnews halifax / By Dan Ahlstrand Four Nova Scotians were part of the 80 appointments to the Order of Canada announced by Governor General Mary Simon on Wednesday Those appointments include gymnast Ellie Black; Dalhousie University president Kim Brooks; Dalhousie professor and director of the Critical Thinking Program Patrick Croskerry; and Mi’kmaq historian and archaeologist Roger Lewis of the Sipekne’katik First Nation. Other notable appointees include country music singer Terri Clark and children’s entertainer Raffi. The Order of Canada is the highest honour in the Canadian honours system.
