CITYnews halifax / By Mark Hodgins

Halifax Regional Police have laid charges against a second man in relation to antisemitic graffiti found in the city last month.

In September, police reported six incidents of the graffiti in Halifax, including three written directly on Synagogues.

Russell Jared Currie, 32, was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the incidents. He was expected to appear in court on Wednesday, facing charges of public incitement of hatred, three counts of mischief related to religious property and three counts of property damage.

The first arrest in the case was made three days after the graffiti was reported. Gezom Topalli, 31, is facing the same charges as Currie.

“Anyone exposed to behaviour that is offensive, threatening or intimidating is encouraged to report it to police,” reads a media release from HRP.
