Crews remain on scene working to extinguish the Lake George wildfire that ignited Sunday Sept. 28. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said in an update Saturday the fire has grown slightly to an estimated 267 hectares. Over 350 civic addresses have been evacuated to date, including around 79 permanent addresses. There have been no reports of any structural damage. Saturday’s resource efforts include 28 DNR crew members, 39 B.C. and 31 local firefighters, two Newfoundland and four Northwest Territories planes, one DNR and five contracted helicopters, and 18 pieces of heavy equipment.
