Satisfaction with Houston government ‘strong’: Narrative Research

A new survey out from Narrative Research shows most Nova Scotians are satisfied with the performance of the provincial government.

According to the most recent Atlantic quarterly survey, 57 per cent of Nova Scotians are satisfied with the Tim Houston government’s performance.

That’s up 3 per cent from the same time last year, but also down three points since May.

Across the region, satisfaction with the performance of a provincial government is highest in Newfoundland and Labrador, with 66 per cent of residents satisfied.

“In more than 25 years of tracking provincial government satisfaction in the region, we have never seen a government replaced with satisfaction levels this strong,” Margaret Brigley, CEO & Partner of Narrative Research, said. “Satisfaction levels have remained stable following a three-month transition from Premier Furey to Premier Hogan and are at the highest levels reported in that province in the past four years.”

When it comes to the federal government’s performance, Narrative Research says 59 per cent of Nova Scotians surveyed were satisfied with the federal government’s performance. This, according to the data, is the highest overall satisfaction of the government since the end of 2020.

Overall in Atlantic Canada, six out of 10 residents were satisfied with the Carney government’s performance, the highest overall level of satisfaction with Ottawa in the region since the end of 2020.
