Halifax Regional Police say a man was arrested after being caught breaking into vehicles in the city.

Officers were called to a parking lot on Quingate Place, near Quinpool Road, around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

“Upon arrival, officers found seven cars with the front passenger window smashed and located a suspect in the bushes near the parking lot,” police said in a media release.

The suspect, 40-year-old Andrew Ryan Bowie, will be in court at a later date on charges including seven counts of mischief an one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000.
