CITYnews halifax / By Chris Halef

Regional police are investigating a trio of assaults that took place in Halifax last night.

At roughly 7:05 p.m., officers were called to Africville Road where a man had been hit by a vehicle. A black vehicle was witnessed leaving the scene.

Police said when officers arrived, they found the man who had been struck and a woman who was also suffering from injuries that police believe were caused by a weapon.

Both were suffering from serious injuries and were transported to hospital.

Then at 7:20 p.m., officers were called to Memorial Drive for reports that a group of people had just assaulted a man with a weapon. The group was seen arriving and taking off in two black vehicles.

The victim in that incident was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

According to HRP, investigators believe all three incidents are connected and stem from a dispute that began earlier that evening.

The investigation is ongoing but the suspects are all believed to be known to each other.

Anyone with information is asked to contact HRP or Crime Stoppers.
