A man has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of rapper Pat Stay.

A jury found 34-year-old Adam Drake guilty of the killing of the battle rapper in 2022 at a downtown Halifax nightclub.

The verdict was delivered Wednesday, and the conviction carries an automatic life sentence with parole eligibility ranging from 10 to 25 years.

That will be determined by a judge at a sentencing hearing.

Drake is already serving a life sentence for first-degree murder in the 2016 shooting death of Tyler Keizer.

He was charged in 2019, but the Crown withdrew the charge two years later, telling the court there was no reasonable prospect of conviction.

After Stay was killed, the charge was reinstated and Drake was convicted last year.

A date for the sentencing hearing will be set Friday.
