Halifax Police continue investigation into 2005 murder of Danny DiBenedetto

It’s been over 20 years since the death of Danny DiBenedetto as Halifax Regional Police continue to investigate his murder.

According to police, on the evening of February 8, 2005, police responded to a reported shooting at a Dartmoor Crescent residence in Bedford where they found the 36-year-old who had been shot.

He was later taken to hospital but died of his injuries. Police say three masked suspects entered his home and an altercation took place, leading to Danny being shot.

HRP says one suspect was described as a Black man, wearing jeans, a black puffy jacket with fur around the collar, and a dark ski mask.

The second suspect was described as a Black man with his hair tied back, wearing a grey tracksuit, grey hooded sweatshirt, and a dark ski mask. The third suspect was described as a Black male wearing a ski mask.

Police are encouraging anyone who may have information to come forward, and they are reminding people Danny’s case is part of the Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.
