Man charged with murder following assault at East Coast Forensic Hospital

Police have charged a man with murder in connection to an assault that took place last spring at East Coast Forensic Hospital.

On May 9, 2024, police were called to the hospital after a patient assaulted another patient.

According to HRP, a 69-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and as a result, 32-year-old Mohamed Isaak was charged with aggravated assault.

On July 6, the victim, Allen Nickerson, died in hospital.

His death was ruled a homicide and the charges against Isaak were upgraded to second degree murder.

Isaak was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
