According to RCMP, officers responded to a situation where a man, believed to be armed, barricaded himself inside a home on the 1300 block of West Porters Lake Road. On social media platform X, police asked neighbours and people in the surrounding area to stay in their homes as a precaution as they turned off power temporarily in an attempt to work towards a peaceful resolution. Power was later turned back on and in a final update at 12:30 p.m., Mounties said a man was found dead inside the home.
