Voluntary measures were brought in on Nov. 14 due to lower-than-normal water levels at the lake, which services areas including Dartmouth, Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage. Related: Over 100,000 people asked to conserve water due to low levels in Lake Major Some mandatory water use restrictions introduced for areas supplied by Lake Major On Nov. 25 some mandatory restrictions were added. The utility says conservation efforts helped decrease water usage by 5 to 10 per cent at the lake and there has been enough rain in recent weeks to bring water levels back to normal.
