The corporation says it saw a 0.5 per cent increase in earnings to $83.3 million and total sales went up 1.5 per cent to $245.8 million. Beverage alcohol sales increased by 1.2 per cent to $213.2 million and cannabis sales increased 3.9 per cent to $32.6 million. “This quarter we saw a slight increase in sales overall,” said Greg Hughes, President and CEO. “Cannabis, along with the ready-to-drink category, continue to perform well and are leading this growth.” Related: NSLC reports a 6% increase in earnings, 11 new cannabis locations in last Man charged with break and enter at NSLC in Dartmouth Private wine, specialty stores jump according to the latest NSLC report The NSLC says sales to bars, pubs and restaurants dropped less than one per cent in the second quarter, but sales to private wine and specialty stores jumped nearly 24 per cent. As far as local products, sales for alcohol increased 3.3 per cent to $29.6 million. Local cannabis sales dropped by 10 per cent, but still represented 28.3 per cent of all cannabis sales.
