On Nov. 12, officers responded to a report of a stolen truck truck on Highway 4 where there were also a number of reported thefts from unlocked vehicles in that area. According to police, several hours later, the owner of the truck found it abandoned with a number of items that were stolen from those unlocked vehicles from earlier. The next day, Mounties arrested two people in connection to the crimes. Victor McNamara, 28, of Beaver Bank, has been charged with sixteen offences while Melanie Mahar, 30, of Lower Sackville, has been charged with ten offences. They made their first court appearances on Nov. 13 with McNamara being remanded in custody while Mahar was released by the court on conditions. “We received reports of at least eight thefts from vehicles, but it’s possible that there were more,” says Sgt. Lance Wood, Inverness County District RCMP. “Even if a theft has a low dollar value, knowing where and when these incidents are taking place helps police to understand crime-related trends in our community. It allows us to target our proactive patrols to help prevent future offences, and it makes it easier for us to return recovered items to their proper owners.” Anyone with information about these thefts, including footage from dashcams or doorbell cameras, is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post N.S. election: party leaders spar over immigration, housing and health next post Walmart bakery death not suspicious, Halifax police say You may also like Gas prices to change as energy board invokes... 10 مارس، 2026 Operating rooms closed at Victoria General after weekend... 10 مارس، 2026 Halifax considers asking province to create centralized dangerous... 10 مارس، 2026 RCMP in N.S. continue cannabis crackdown with more... 10 مارس، 2026 Cape Breton arts centre says tourism will be... 2026 Wilkie wins Canada’s first gold medal at Milan... 8 مارس، 2026 Iranian state TV says Mojtaba Khamenei, son of... 8 مارس، 2026 Missing police badge recovered in proactive traffic stop 8 مارس، 2026
