Firefighters immediately doused the flames while other first responders freed a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The driver, a 41-year-old man from Indian Harbour, was pronounced dead at the scene. Peggys Cove Road was closed for several hours while police and a collision reconstructionist investigated the crash. It has since been reopened.
