The province says the Dartmouth club is getting more than $330,000 from the Sustainable Communities Challenge Fund. “We are excited about dramatically decreasing our carbon footprint and contributing to improving the health of Lake Banook,” Jim Johnson, president of the Banook Canoe Club, said in a news release. The money will be used to install rooftop solar panels, upgrade the heating and HVAC systems, and replace five gas powered safety boat engines with battery-powered engines. Environment minister Tim Halman says the upgrades will transform the community hub into a sustainable gathering place for generations to come. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Nova Scotia school support staff want a say in addressing school violence next post You may also like Police involved in power pole crash while chasing... 28 أبريل، 2026 Three drivers in HRM charged with stunting 2026 Manitoba man killed in Shubenacadie car crash 27 أبريل، 2026 Prime Minister Mark Carney announces Canada’s 1st sovereign... 27 أبريل، 2026 Power restored after thousands in the dark in...
