The department says its investigation “can only continue if more information comes to light.” Charges can be laid under the Forests Act up to two years from the date of an offence. The wildfire started on May 28, 2023, and destroyed 151 homes. “Charges are only laid if there is sufficient evidence to secure a conviction,” the release said. “There is a high bar for what can be used as evidence in court.” Anyone with new information is asked to call the department at 1-800-565-2224. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post N.S. swordfish harpoon fleet urged to bring tourists aboard to boost troubled sector next post Union agrees in principle to Postmedia’s $1-million bid for Atlantic newspaper chain You may also like Police involved in power pole crash while chasing... 28 أبريل، 2026 Three drivers in HRM charged with stunting 2026 Manitoba man killed in Shubenacadie car crash 27 أبريل، 2026 Prime Minister Mark Carney announces Canada’s 1st sovereign... 27 أبريل، 2026 Power restored after thousands in the dark in...
