Emergency alert called off after armed man in Cape Breton located by police

Police in Cape Breton are reporting that the subject of an emergency alert is now in police custody and there is no longer a threat to public safety in that region of the province.

Kenneth Scott MacPhee was said to have threatened to harm specific individuals known to him and was believed to have a firearm.

Authorities had issued an emergency alert just after 4 a.m.
