Lane closed on MacKay Bridge: ‘Heavy traffic issues likely’

A Halifax-bound lane of the MacKay Bridge is closed this afternoon due to an emergency maintenance issue.

Halifax Harbour Bridges (HBB) announced the closure of one of the two northbound lanes at 4 p.m.

There was no word on the nature of the maintenance, but HHB said the lane would be closed for 15 hours.

“Heavy traffic issues are likely,” an HBB spokesperson told CityNews 95.7.

The closure was creating significant delays on Highway 111.
