RCMP were called to the scene in Denmark just before 2 p.m. Sunday to find that a north-bound Toyota Corolla collided with a Honda Civic that was heading south. A 68-year-old woman from Truro, a passenger in the Corolla, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota’s driver, a 68-year-old Truro man, was airlifted from the scene by LifeFlight to hospital with what police described as serious injuries. The driver of the Civic, a 59-year-old Gairloch man, received minor injuries. A 22-year-old West River Station woman who was also in the Honda was unhurt. Police closed a section of Hwy 326 on Sunday while they investigated the crash.
