A snowstorm impacting the Halifax area overnight has led to closures and delays on Monday.
Here’s what’s closed.
SCHOOLS:
All HRCE schools are closed. Exams pushed ahead one day
All SSRCE schools are closed. All offices and worksites are also closed.
All TCRCE schools are closed. All offices and worksites to open at 10 am
All SRCE schools and worksites are closed
All CCRCE schools are closed. Worksites to open at 10 am
All AVRCE schools are closed.
Dalhousie’s Halifax and Truro campuses are closed
All NSCC campuses are closed
SMU has cancelled classes
MSVU Campus closed. Online learning may continue
Atlantic School of Theology is closed for the day
SERVICES:
Parks & Recreation
Many municipal recreation facilities will be delaying opening on Monday. A decision will be made at 10 a.m. (with potential re-opening at 12 p.m.) regarding whether rentals/facilities/programming activities will continue as scheduled.

African Heritage Month Flag Raising
The municipality is also advising residents that the African Heritage Month flag raising, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. at Grand Parade has been cancelled due to the forecasted weather.
Solid Waste
Curbside collection will be cancelled on Monday, Jan. 29 due to the forecasted winter storm. Recovery collection will occur on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Community Safety
The Halifax Ground Search and Rescue team will be conducting wellness checks to assess the safety of anyone who chooses not to leave an outdoor sheltering location.
