The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is reporting that a struggle ensued when RCMP officers tried to arrest an apparent impaired driver in Digby on December 28. SiRT says the man was put in a cell and EHS workers diagnosed him with a broken collarbone. Meanwhile, on January 21, an officer with the Town of Amherst’s police department allegedly used a taser to subdue a man who wasn’t cooperating. According to SiRT, the man fell, and was taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with two broken ribs. He was released into police custody.
