Watchdog lays assault charge against Halifax police officer

Nova Scotia’s police watchdog has charged a Halifax Regional Police officer with assault.

The Serious Incident Response Team says the charges stem from an alleged incident last April involving a woman known to the officer.

The officer, according to SiRT, was off-duty at the time.

Constable Jacob Farr now faces a charge of assault and is expected to appear in court next week.
