Special weather statement issued for several counties for freezing rain Thursday

Several counties outside of HRM are under a special weather statement warning of the risk of freezing rain Thursday night and Friday.

Environment Canada has stated Colchester, Cumberland, Pictou, and Antigonish counties are warning of freezing rain.

The national forecaster says those areas could see 4 hours of freezing rain over higher terrain but warns that the forecast remains uncertain and could change.

As for HRM, the current forecast for Thursday night calls for 5-10 mm of rain with an additional 2-4 mm on Friday with temperatures around plus 4.
