Man in hospital with serious injuries after stabbing at Dartmouth motel

A man is in hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries after a stabbing early Wednesday morning at a Dartmouth motel.

Officers were called to the Lake City Motel on Lake Crest Drive around 3:05 a.m. to find a 30-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.  The man was rushed from the scene to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police say a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, which was spotted a short time later.  The suspect sped away from officers, who caught up with the suspect after the vehicle crashed in Chelsea Probert Park.

Police remained on scene in both areas Wednesday morning.  Police indicated that the incident is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.  More information will be released when known.
