Nova Scotians are being asked to keep an eye on the forecast this weekend with another storm on the way.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement calling for a large storm to move into the Maritimes late in the day Sunday.

The system is expected to intensify into Monday, bringing winds gusting to 100 km/h and up to 70 mm of rain to some parts of the province. The national forecaster says exact impacts aren’t clear yet, but some areas will probably see rain continue straight into Wednesday.

The storm is also forecast to bring high waves and surf along the coast.
