Deagle Gammon elected next Halifax deputy mayor

There’s a new deputy mayor in town.

District 1 councillor Cathy Deagle Gammon was elected to the position on Tuesday, taking over from councillor Sam Austin.

The role carries a one-year term.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be Deputy Mayor and a responsibility I do not take lightly,” says Deagle Gammon. “My commitment to Mayor and Councilis to be fully present and supportive in this role, as we manage through this challenging year ahead.”

Deagle Gammon was elected to council in Oct. 2020.
