Halifax Regional Police say a person was taken to hospital after a car-pedestrian collision early Monday morning in Halifax.

Officers were called to an area near Bell Road and Ahearn Avenue around 6:45 a.m. after a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Police say the pedestrian was taken from the scene to hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
