new 837 COVID-19 cases reported in Nova Scotia on Sunday

The province completed more than 4,000 tests on Saturday

Nova Scotia is reporting 837 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Jan. 9.

The province says 541 of those cases are in Central Zone, 133 are in Eastern Zone, 90 are in Northern Zone and 73 are in Western Zone.

On Jan. 8, Nova Scotia Health Authority labs completed 4,144 tests.

“Because of a spike in testing and positive cases, public health is experiencing delays in follow-up,” a news release says. “All people who test positive should contact their close contacts. Public Health is prioritizing contact tracing in long-term care, healthcare facilities, correctional facilities, shelters and other group settings.”
